Visit to Santa

We took Maycee to go see Santa this past week. She was so excited and could hardly wait her turn in line. I kept asking her if she wanted to sit on his lap and she kept telling me yes. Apparently she changed her mind.

HALLOWEEN

Maycee was a little devil this year for Halloween. Most people thought that she was little red riding hood because she didn't want to keep the hood on her head, but she did love to wear the cape and spin in circles. We went to our wards trunk-r-treat the night before and Maycee had a ball running from car to car to get her candy. On Halloween we made it up our street running and carried down the next before she was too tired to go on. It was so fun to see how excited she was to go trick-r-treating.

We went up to Salt Lake for a few days, and while we were there my mom had a Halloween party for all of the grandkids. Maycee dressed up as a cow girl.

Happy Anniversary

Tyler surprised me this year for our Anniversary. He had his mom come and stay with Maycee for the night while we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then up to the Ritz Carlton at beautiful Lake Las Vegas. This was the first time that we had ever left Maycee for the night, and she did really well. It was so nice walking by the lake at night with it all lit up, relaxing by the pool, and then getting up and eating breakfast by the lake. Oh and I can't forget eating the best carameled apple we've ever had! It was so romantic and so much fun, and couldn't have ended better than coming home to our smiling Maycee.

A little too quiet

The other day I was trying to hurry and finish getting ready...I noticed that it had gotten a little too quiet and went to see what Maycee was up to. Of course, she was getting ready too:) She had decided that she didn't like the shirt I had already dressed her in, and had taken that off. She then managed to climb on the toilet to help her up on the sink, find my makeup and put it on all by herself. I do have to give her credit of getting the eye shadow mostly around her eye. The last picture is because she wasn't quite done putting it on before I found her and had to take it away.

Nursery

Maycee started nursery back at the end of July. To sum it all up, she hates it:) We have been in and out of town so much lately that I don't think she has had enough consistancy to know that it really is a fun place to go. It's gotten so bad that the crying now starts when we get within five feet of the nursery door, and she clings on to me for dear life. These pictures are after she finished a traumatic first day there. By the looks of things I think she was happy to be back home.

Water Water Everywhere

If you know Maycee at all, you know that if there is water anywhere around that's where you will find her. Here are just a few pictures of how we have been spending our summer with water.

July??

I'm not sure where July went (or June for that matter) I guess it's true what they say...time flys when your having fun.
I took Maycee to the 4th of July Parade. We had fun and she liked it for the most part, but her favorite thing to do was to turn her back to the parade and clap at the people walking by on the sidewalk. Go figure. I guess we do have some interesting people here.

We decided to go to fireworks even though Maycee hadn't taken a nap that day. She was really cranky but as soon as the fireworks started she loved it.

Take a Hike

I have been wanting to go hiking for a while now, so the other week on Tyler's day off we packed up my little grill and some hot dogs for a pic-nic and headed to Mt. Charlston. When we got there we found out that we couldn't roast our hotdogs because of fire restrictions (sad because I had been waiting all week to eat a roasted hotdog) but luckily we were able to buy some sandwiches at the lodge. I had looked up some hikes before we left and decided on one of the easier ones since we don't have a backpack to carry Maycee in yet. Maycee wanted to hike all by herself, but we decided that if we were going to ever finish the hike we couldn't let her do much of that.We took turns lugging her up the mountain and decided that either the hike was harder than we thought it was going to be, or we are both more out of shape than we thought. We finally got to the top to the spectacular "waterfall" (or trickle off the rock) I don't know what I was expecting living in Vegas and all.

Cloanne

Tyler's oldest sister recently passed away unexpectedly. We will miss her so much and especially the "Tia" that she was to Maycee. I am so happy to have the knowledge that we do, and know that we will be able to be with her once again. We love you Cloanne.

Picture time

I set up a little homemade photo studio in my computer room the other day and decided to try and have a little photo shoot with Maycee. I've learned now that I need about ten more hands and atleast two other people to make the next time a little more successful. I took about a million pictures (thank goodness for digital cameras,) but only a few turned out since most of the time was spent trying to get Maycee to actually smile, not fall off the table, look at the camera, not fall off the table, actually hit the button to take the picture, not fall off the table, adjust the lighting, and did I mention keep her from falling off the table? all at one time. Maybe I will atleast wait until Tyler is home to help out next time. I posted a few of the many many pictures that we spent all day taking. The top one is the number one pick.

Chili

We had chili for dinner one night... normally I would be the one in charge of the spoon, but Maycee is such a big girl now and wanted to do it all by herself. This was the result.
