HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

One day as I was picking the toys up off the floor,
I noticed a small hand print on the wall beside the door.
I knew that it was something that I'd seen most every day,
but this time when I saw it there I wanted it to stay.
Then tears welled up inside my eyes, I knew it wouldn't last
for every mother knows her children grow up way too fast.
Just then I put my chores aside and held my children tight.
I sang to them sweet lullabies and rocked into the night.
Sometimes we take for granted, all those things that seem so small
.Like one of God's great treasures...A small hand print on the wall.

Maycee turned 1 year old on Sunday! I can't believe how fast time has flown by and how big my little baby is getting. We love her more and more each day, she is truly our little miracle. Happy Birthday Maycee!

We had a little Birthday lunch with some family on Sunday. Since Maycee loves rice, we decided to have Hawaiian haystacks. She thought they were pretty good.I made Maycee a My Little Pony Cake. I think the only person who ate all of the frosting was Maycee...the rest of us couldn't handle all of the sugar.

Maycee attacked the cake! She ate it so fast that I didn't even have time to get a picture of the "before", just the after. She LOVED it and wanted every last crumb.

Christmas 2008

We had a fun and busy Christmas this year. We started off with heading up to Salt Lake to visit my family for a few days. Of course the day before we were to leave, we had a freak snow storm here in Vegas that closed everything including the airport down. Luckily everything was up and running by the time we were to leave. (Except for a few minor details like not having a pilot to fly our plane, or getting stuck on the runway for three hours while they tried to figure out how to de-ice a plane with only warm water. ) We had fun being with family but had to be back for Tylers work. We waited for Tyler to get home from work on Christmas before we opened presents. Maycee was so cute opening her presents, although it was mostly the paper that she was most excited about. Then it was off to St. George to be with Tylers family for a few days. While we were there we also celebrated my 27th birthday! The day after we got home, we found out that Tyler's uncle had passed away, so back off to Salt Lake we went (this time driving in a horrible snow storm.) Although it was a quick trip, it was nice to be with both families once again.
