PIcture with Santa

We took Maycee to get her picture with Santa while we were in Salt Lake. I totally expected her to cry since she won't really go to anyone, let alone some old guy dressed in a funny red suite. To our surprise she sat on his lap, let us get a picture and then was still all smiles for a few minutes after while she took it all in. When we took her off Santas lap, she wanted to wave at all the others who were still standing in line. What a cuttie.

10 months old

Maycee turned 10 months old on the 25th. She just started to crawl a couple of weeks ago and is now a pro at it. At first she acted so offended that we were not carrying her from place to place and would cry with every little crawl that she would make. Then she figured out that she could get from one toy to another and thought that was pretty neat. Now there is no stopping her, she loves to go up the stairs to our kitchen, but wants to lunge off of them to get back down. We havn't quite mastered the coming back down part yet. She still doesn't have any teeth, but has the cutest gummy smile ever! I havn't downloaded a picture for this post but I'll get some up soon.

Laundry?

The other day I had just finished folding laundry, I turned around for 2 seconds and came back to this. Maycee had rolled over to all the folded clothes and demolished my piles in a blink of an eye. She isn't very good at entertaining herself too often, so I let her go at it. Heck, I would fold clothes all the time if would keep her entertained the way it did that day.

Happy Halloween!!

Maycee spent her first Halloween as a Bee. We went to our ward trunk-r-treat on Thursday night and then ordered pizza and handed out candy on Halloween.

We decided to wait until it got closer to Halloween to carve our pumpkins...little did we know that they would be rotten and moldy the day after we carved them. I guess jack o lanterns just arn't cut out for Vegas heat.

Not for the weak stomache

This was the aftermath of the marathon. A few other toenails came off...but this was the most discusting of them all.

Happy Anniversary!

On the 16th we celibrated our 4th anniversary! It's hard to believe that we have been married for four years, but at the same time it seems like we've known each other for a life time. What a perfect day that was. It's been an incredible four years, and I look forward to the rest of forever. I love you Tyler...Happy Anniversary.

This year we decided to celebrate our anniversary in San Francisco. We had so much fun.

Our favorite part of the trip was taking the Ferry out to Alcatraz Island. We spent an entire day out here and thought it was really fascinating.

Maycee thought this was pretty neat...(hopefully the only time she thinks that)

We ate on Fishermans Wharf, saw the sea lions, walked through China Town, went to the Farmers market (I love free samples!), took a ride on the trolly, and stuffed ourselves with a sunday at Ghiradelli Square. We walked and walked and walked all over the city, and enjoyed beautiful sunsets. What a great trip!

Costco Ride

A few weeks ago I took Maycee to Costco and decided to let her ride in the cart without her carseat for the first time. She thought this was pretty neat and was happy the entire time we were there. I can't believe how big she is getting! she is now just over 8 months old and is on the verge of crawling (I think). She gets up on her hands and knees now, but just doesn't quite know what to do from there. Her favorite thing to do is to hold on to our hands and run around the living room in big circles. Tyler started doing this with her, but now I'm not so sure if it was such a good idea since we both get tired out much faster than she is ready to quit.

Utah

While we were up in Utah, we decided to make a trip to the zoo. I have been wanting to take Maycee and Tyler there since it would be a first for both of them. Tyler says that we really went for me. It's probably true... I love the zoo! Mom came along with us, and we had a really fun day.
Maycee's favorite animal was the little monkeys. Mom bought her a stuffed monkey and now she holds it and talks to it all the time.

We were able to go and visit Grammy (Maycee's Great Grandma) It was so good to see her.

Top Of Utah Marathon

Quite a few months ago Tyler decided
that he wanted to run a Marathon. He Thought
it would be a good goal to run the 26 miles
while he was 26 years old. So this past
weekend we flew up to Utah so he could
run in the Top of Utah Marathon. He ran with his sister
Tiffany, while Mom and I waited at the finish line.
With three black toenails that are about
to fall off now, and extremely sore muscles...
he finished the race! Way to go Tyler, we are so proud of you!!

Zions Ponderosa

We had our Butler get together this past weekend up at Zions Ponderosa. My brother Scott and his wife Carynn are working up there for the Fall and were able to get us an awesome deal. (Thanks again Scott and Carynn)
We took Maycee on her first hike up to Angels Landing. Boy was that a story in itself. I forgot to pack any extra diapers and didn't realize this until we had a major blowout on the tram ride up to our hike. I didn't really know how bad it was until we reached our stop and I took her into the bathroom to see what I could do. There was no hope! By sparring you too much detail I'll just say that poop was eveywhere!! Luckily Daddy came to the rescue and donated one of his shirts that we wrappe her up in (still minus a diaper) for the 4+ hour hike. Maycee and Tyler bothe were a little damp, but we like to say that it was just sweat...right. We finished the hike and made it back down to the car to get a nice clean diaper. Ah the memories.

There were so many activities that Scott was able to hook us up with. We all did a little rock climbing including Maycee.

Here we are doing the zip-line. We even got Mom to do it (with a little push from Scott off the tower) WhooHoo... GO MOM!

Scott took us on a 4 wheeler ride up to the top of the mountain. It was really fun and had some great views.

Time to eat

Maycee just went in for her 6th month appointment (she will actually be 7 months on Monday) she weighs 13.4 lbs now and everything looks great. We have started her on rice and oatmeal along with some sweetpotatoes and pees and an occasional watermellon. Some days she loves it, and other days she just wants to blow bubbles and spit it back on me.
