Santa!

Poor girl. This was our second attempt to sit on Santa's lap. (The first time Maycee screamed so loud before I even got her to Santa's lap, that Santa himself sent us on our way.) We went back a week later...I picked the picture that most resembled somewhat of a smile. Maycee got off his lap, and after catching her breath told me that maybe next year she wouldn't be so scared. We'll see.

Let it snow

I wanted to get some pictures of Maycee out in the Snow while we were up north last month, but Maycee ended up breaking my camera so they turned out not so great. They were still pretty cute so I thought that I'd post them anyway.

HALLOWEEN

This year was an interesting Halloween. I was so excited to take Maycee to the Pumpkin Patch and let her pick out her own pumpkin. I don't think it could have gotten any more dissappointing. On the drive there she fell asleep and did not want to be woken up. We walked her around the pumpkin patch where she could have cared less, and managed to capture a few pictures before she burst into tears and wanted to leave.
I kept asking Maycee what she wanted to be for Halloween and she didn't know...so I found this cute Super Girl costume to dress her up in. She was SOOOO excited until we actually got home and had her try it on. The tears did not stop coming, and continued everytime I brought the costume out or even mentioned the thought of putting it back on to go Trick or Treating in. The night of our trunk or treat was full of tears until we actually started to get candy and then everything was fine. The minute we got back in to the car though, she made it clear that super girl had to go. We wern't even able to get pictures until a few days later where I was able to bribe her with some candy if she would put on the costume for just a few minutes. After her pictures she told me that she looked pretty and wanted to stay dressed up for a little bit longer. Ofcourse she did.

SAN DIEGO!!

We went to San Diego back in September and had so much fun! We stayed in a condo that was just a few steps from the beach so we were able to spend lots of time walking and gathering seashells, building sand castles, and watch the surfers (and dolfins swim off the shore). We visited the Mormon Battalion in Old Town where Maycee even panned for gold, ate at Ruby's on the Pier, and made a trip to Sea World (Maycee's favorite) where she still will throw her hands in the air and yell SHAMOO SHAMOO!! and put her hand on her head like a fin to immitate a shark. We were lucky enough to have my mom come with us where Maycee loved having 24/7 attention from Grandma. We love San Diego.

Potty Talk

Maycee is officially POTTY TRAINED!! She is doing so well and hasn't had an accident in her pants for a while now. Now I'm warning you that this is a post about Potty talk, and there were a few things that she has said or that have happened that were too funny to not post about them. We did have a little set back in the whole potty training process when we visited Utah and had to use a public bathroom. As soon as I sat Maycee up on the toilet a lady in the stall next to us had (how do I say it politely) extremely loud gas. So loud that it scared Maycee right off the toilet and afraid to use a big toilet again for a few days. Poor girl probably thought she might blow up too like the lady next to us. Another funny story worth mentioning is when we first starting trying to get her to use the potty. She sat down on it, tooted, stood up and looked in the potty and said "where did my toot go?" And finally today as she finished, she looked in the toilet and said "it looks like a big snake swimming all around in there...hi snake" as she bends down to wave at it. I love that I get live entertainment all day long...this girl makes me laugh!

July in a nutshell

We started out July with the Summerlin Parade. (It was a dud, but we still had fun people watching) We headed to Utah the next day and then finished celebrating the 4th visiting Wheeler Farm, having a BBQ, and going to a baseball game complete with fireworks. We ran and ran until Maycee was completely exhausted. (She absolutely LOVED the fireworks and didn't take her eyes off of them) Then it was off to Idaho for my family reunion at Lava Hot Springs. We swam, played with cousins, tubed down the river... flipped upside down in the river...bandaged our wounds from the river, played games and had fun. We returned to Salt Lake and played for a few more days where we went to the Farmers Market, and of course the fountains at the Gateway. We returned home just long enough to do a little wash and head back to Utah for the Andrus reunion up Beaver Canyon. We camped a few days, danced, made some crafts, and sat by the fire to roast GIANT marshmellows. We rushed back to Las Vegas for a wedding, and returned back to St. George to pick up Maycee (I have never missed her so much, I hardly knew what to do with myself without her here.) Awe.. What a (GREAT) month:)

Gone Domestic

I've been working on making a dress for Maycee for a while now. (The idea has been in my head for over a year now, it's just taken a while to actually sit myself down and do it.) I finally finished it and made Maycee pose for a few pictures of my ending result.

What a pose

While we were visiting up in Salt Lake, we went to Hill Airforce base to look around. This pose was all Maycee, we took the camera out to get a picture and this is what she did.

Lake Havisu

We wanted to go somewhere fun for Tyler's Birthday this year but hadn't planned on where we wanted to go. At the last minute we decided that we would try out Lake Havisu. We had heard that it could get a little crazy down there aound Spring Break, and were hoping that we would have missed all of the crazy college spring breakers. Luckily by the time we got there most of them had left and there was just families left enjoying the 85 degree sunshine. We swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub, rented a paddle boat, and played on the beach. Good times.
